As time went by, the business continued to prosper and Mr. Johnson's sons became involved. A second store was opened in 1961 at the corner of Quince Orchard Road and Route 28 in Gaithersburg, Maryland. By the time Mr. Johnson died in 1971, the business had grown so much that the two (2) stores comprised the largest retail florist business in the Washington, D.C. area. |
After Mr. Johnson died, Johnson’s Florist and Garden Centers were run by three of Raymond Sr.’s sons -- Ray Jr., Marshall, and Mike. All three have since retired.| Johnson's Washington, DC 4200 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington D.C., 20016 Phone: 202-244-6100 Fax: 202-362-5180 Toll Free: 1-800-256-6687 Mon-Fri 9:00AM-6:00PM Saturday 8:30AM-6:30PM Sunday 9:00AM-5:00PM |
