Birding is one of the most popular leisure time activities in the world. According to the US Fish and Wildlife Service, there are currently 51.3 million birders in the United States alone, and this number continues to grow! But it is so much more than just a hobby - birding connects you with nature and is fun, educational, and inexpensive. And you don’t have to leave home to do it. Birds need fresh, clean water for drinking and bathing. They are attracted to water just as they are to feeders and a clean, well-maintained birdbath will make your space even more attractive to them.
A nesting structure is a great way to attract birds and provide shelter. Cavity nesting species such as chickadees, wrens, bluebirds, tree swallows, and many others will readily use artificial nesting boxes or birdhouses.
